TT Breathing with Brett

Brett invites you to a 2 hour beginner TT Breathing session, followed by a hot and cold therapy session, in the sauna and cold water plunge pool.
 
TT breathing is rounds of breath; breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth, without stopping. An example of this would be 10 breaths as just described, and on the last breath, doing a full exhale and holding for a few seconds. Then releasing this with a big inhale and holding at the top. TT breathing works by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system, reducing the ‘fight or flight’ response and promoting a state of calm. Regular practice can lead to long-term improvements in your physiological and psychological well being. 

In this session, Brett will first explain some basic science of how the deep breathing techniques work, how they can benefit us and how you can incorporate them into your everyday life. He will then carry out a self test on the group to see what level everyone is at, before going into the main breathwork session.

You will then be invited to lay down on your mat, with a pillow and blanket to start the TT breathing session. This will involve rounds of deep breathing through the nose and mouth, and breath holds on the inhale and exhale in between rounds.

After the breathwork session, you will then be invited into the sauna to allow your body to integrate and relax, dipping in and out of the cold water plunge pool when needed.

*This session is not appropriate for anyone who is heavily pregnant or anyone who suffers from epilepsy

Please bring with you to the session: A yoga mat or something else comfortable to lie on, warm clothes, pillow, blanket, 2 towels, 1 to sit on in the sauna and 1 for afterwards, swim wear, a bag for wet clothes and a vessel for water.
